The King and Queen of Falkness, Darmound and Moriana, have no heir. The wicked sorceress, Duressa, plots to take over the kingdom. With the help of Duran, the court enchanter, and Norda, the good enchantress, the king and queen cast a spell that will give them a child. Duressa learns of the baby and casts a spell of her own. Unfortunately, her spell backfires and tears the fabric of the kingdom apart. Duressa, Norda, Duran and the baby are cursed with immortality until the spell is reversed. Into the panic that ensues from the spell, steps Mortimer, Earl of Ern. He rallies the people and is chosen as their new king. | ||

One hundred years later, Queen Lindor, descendant of Mortimer, is negotiating a possible betrothal for her son Alexander (nicknamed Ty). But her castle is invaded by Duressa, who is seeking revenge. Prince Alexander escapes with his sweetheart, Lady Alissia, after learning of the sorceress' desire to find a baby, the fated child of King Darmound, who was affected by the spell cast so many years ago. While running from the guards, Alexander and Alissia meet a group of traveling players, one of whom is none other than the cursed enchanter, Duran. | ||

Scene 4 | On the road again | |
Fleeing into the forest, the players and their royal companions are enspelled by the People of the Forest, who reveal to Alissia that she is the descendant of King Darmound and part of the curse that hangs over the kingdom. The company meets Norda, the good enchantress, and they begin to form a desperate plan to lift the curse and defeat Duressa. | ||

The players perform a foolish play designed to make Duressa angry, and just as they had hoped, she has them thrown into the dungeon. After picking the lock and escaping, Duran and Norda lead the players in reversing the spell that backfired one hundred years ago. | ||
