This play was first performed in 1997 in the park behind our house. At that time the script consisted only of what in this performance is the last scene and as a result was only about 15 minutes long. If you are familiar with Ella Young's lovely book Celtic Wonder Tales you will probably recognize large portions of her lyrical prose. I have filled in the narration to link her tales together and to streamline them -- it's all very well to write about armies of gods and Fomor but I had to fit them all on my stage! I would like to offer my deepest thanks to the many people who have helped us put this show together, including my parents, Judy Reveaux-Wright, the wonderful staff of Louden Nelson, all the wonderful parent volunteers, and of course my fabulous cast! go raibh maith agat (thank you), Laura Wilson Act OneScene 1 - Procession of the elements Scene 2 - The creation of the white isle Scene 3 - The dream of Inisfail Scene 4 - The rise of the FomorIntermissionAct TwoScene 1 - The coming of Lugh Scene 2 - The vision of the white isle Scene 3 - Inisfail, the island of destiny |
