This timeless comedy is brought to new life by director Laura Wilson and a cast of talented homeschoolers. Exquisite costuming, original dance and music add to Shakespeare's classic war of wits and mistaken identities, making this a show to be enjoyed by the entire family!

All proceeds from this production will be used for a scholarship fund to send students from the AFE Shakespeare Workshop to the Ashland Shakespeare Festival in the Spring of 2001.

Director's Notes

Putting on a play is an incredible journey, from the first drawings, notes and discussions, to the final performance. Some of you have been a part of this process: your child, sibling or friend has been going to rehearsals, quoting snippets of Shakespeare as they wander around the house, out of the blue announcing that they need a top hat by tomorrow, and so on. Even someone who has been on the outskirts of our rehearsal process has seen the amazing amount of dedication, care and skill that these young people have invested in their production. Each actor starts from a different place. For some the journey has been like running a marathon, for others, a prolonged jogging in place. I am so proud of all of the cast and crew; you have all worked so hard and grown so much. I salute your hard work and perseverance!

I would also like to offer a special thanks to all of the people who have helped me so much, including (but not limited to): my parents - Andrea and Carl, Judy and Bill, my sister - Linnaea, Jesse Autumn, Jonathan Arthur, the staff of AFE and Loma Prieta High School, the staff of Louden Nelson Center, and to you, our audience, for your support. Thank you all!

Laura Wilson
